How do you get buyin for usability testing?

What are some tools you use to create a space where users/testers can buy into a design or product without having a full understanding of the product?

Need a scenario? How about an analogy? Take for example dishwasher soap, how do you get folks to focus on your products brand, shelf placement, and so on?

Do you feel that brand awareness is a place for buy in? How about coupons and incentives to buy into a product that may or may not be in production?

Getting back to my first question, how does one get buy in? Is buy in necessary for tests? OK, time for a test… How do I get you to read this…

Yes, you have seen this before, in all those spam messages and email chains. Does this create some sort of mystery or buy? Did I get you to read further down the page. Well, I guess so if you are continuing to read this message.

As difficult as that may seem, we are curious to find out what is at the bottom, and that is the key to the buy in stage.
