Testing a new mobile phone or device
Since I recently purchased a new phone, I thought it would be a good time to explore the user interface on my new phone. What is different you ask? Well, from my perspective, the smart-phone has more internal memory, that is about it. You can even do a general comparison between the BlackBerry Pearl and the BlackBerry Curve, for the most part other then a few more mb of internal memory and a full qwerty, the two devices are relatively the same.
As far as testing the new phone, the system has had some upgrades, faster, more reliable, and iconography updates. The full QWERTY makes it a hell of lot easier to use and type, unlike the Pearl where a user needs to learn how to use IntelliType. The downfall is just a result of the size and depth of the device, however once one has mastered the type app, you can pretty much complete any task with one hand.
My next step will be to test some applications on the device, like personal email service providers, mobile apps, theme changes, and speed variance tests. In any case, most of the testing will happen over the next two months, two months giving me enough time to figure out if I truly understand how to use the new device.
