When should I adopt HTML 5?

OMG! HTML 5, what the heck is that! I have to learn that as well; what’s this CSS3 and Canvas bit?

I’m sure your list will extend beyond my weak attend to formulate the questions you have about HTML 5… but I can say these questions flash across my mind when I started coding up a test site with HTML 5 standard(working) practices

For me I’ll wait a while, meaning we all have a number of years before the folks over at WHATWG put their stamp of approval on this thing in 2022 or more. It’s like any new standard, there’s always problems with these things! Heck, this HTML 5 thing will be around for awhile. At least in my career. Awhile you say? Although most of the draft concepts of HTML 5 have been written it is clear to me that we will needs sometime to sort through which browsers will support the code base, the scramble to retro fit previous code models and the date in which this so called draft HTML 5 standard will actually become a standard. PSST…. And more…

So, whats the hype about? This HTML 5 is going to be a fade and a waste of some valuable time on the behalf of the creators! Well, that will be determined by the public and ultimately those who choose to jump on board(early adoption in my mind is key). The hype is out there, go look for it. I’m not here to shove the HTML BS on your plate, but keep your eyes pealed; BEWARE! there are a number of sites that can help you out, if you choose the HTML 5 path!

bling skater style

I always like the artwork of a street artist/skater style designers. Not sure why, but I guess I was fascinated with the technical skills a street artist had to have; spray paint, cover of darkness, gangs, and much more. The spray strokes always kept my imagination, I always thought it was a danger gig to get involved in; turf wars, gangs, and just the run of the mill delinquent.

I don’t consider myself any of the above, but I had a fawn memory of Clark and Hogan pulling kids off the streets to show there work in the gallery. Fascinating. I like the vision these folks had, nothing to lose but their creativity in the middle of the night.

So, Bling… I’m not really sure where I want to take this image, but I thought it was interesting to work with street like fonts. I wanted to document the need to look more into street art and see what I can do with it in the future. I like to keep a tab on the subjects that I know I can’t physically copy or render in person. But a good start to hashing out street/skater style designs.

Headphones

Somebody play some noise! I need something to play in my ears, Do-Wop – Punk somebodies got something to play. I always prefer to have a little something playing in the old headset. I’m not a huge fan of the big headphones; I have the little ear-buds that fit my ear canal.

The earbuds/plugs are pretty comfortable, you do have to get use to have a suction type of a feeling in your ear since the earplug creates a tight seal to block out surrounding sound. I’d prefer the earplugs over the ear-buds since the ear-buds hurt the cartilage around the canal of my ears. Really those things are quite unpleasant. In any case, I had sometime to slap this drawing together… nothing to detailed but I did want to have a record of my thought.

I’m thinking cheeseburgers, onion chips and a Lemonade! Yeah, may be some chicken rings thrown in there as well. I’m a huge fan of White Caste burgers, although I’m not sure why.

It may be the greasy onion chips/fries, great coffee, the smell that saturates your clothes upon visiting, or the people.

AIGA Cleveland Presents: Let’s Ride! AIGA Cleveland Bike Outing
Saturday Aug. 28, 2010

Starting at 11:45 – 13512 Station Rd. Brecksville, OH (Brecksville Train Station) we’ll kick of the day with AIGA SWAG! Water bottles, t-shirts and more donated by Retronyms and our AIGA Sponsors. So, you can begin the days journey in style and be hydrated too!

We’ll cruise on over to Boston Mills; Brecksville to Boston Mills is about 4.25 miles. From there, we will make our second leg of the journey to Peninsula which is about another 2.5 miles.

The bike event portion of the day will conclude around ~3pm Saturday afternoon. I believe we will then make our way to the Winking Lizard where we’ll gather again to share stories and enjoy the remainder of the day.

Get the sprocket grease out, your riding shoes, a helmet and meet us at the Brecksville Train Station at 11:45 for a little Cleveland fun. So, come on “Let’s Ride!”

Profile issues are a direct result of not having the ability to back up my 3Gs just after I dropped it on the ground. Probably my fault, but it’s been a pain. At some point I gave up and just restored my iPhone 4 to a backup made a month prior; that profile did not have my latest Storm 8 World War profile which is when I finally made my moves to push forward with the game. It has taken weeks to get to that point, I would say it was a daily activity! SO MAD!

I emailed Storm 8 about the restore… no response. What KIND OF COMPANY DOES THAT? NO COMMUNICATION! Honestly, I’m probably not going to be able to restore my game… So, I deleted the game. I guess I don’t need it anyway!

So, World War is off the phone now along with a number of other apps that just didn’t have staying power. Like Tiki Premium, Mr. Aahh and Google Buzz. I think I asked the questions last week; are people still using Buzz? Wave?

Who would’ve thought night terror could be used as a muse of sorts? I don’t. On the other hand, it’s what u have now, so I might as well use it before I lose it!

I’m not sure what caused the bad dream, it was so real. I just wanted to get away from what ever it was.

It took another 30 minutes just to wrap my head around what could have caused the horrific dream; aged beer, late dinner, late night water… Whatever it was, I’m still not over the horror I felt when I awoke from my time at rest.

Does anxiety cause bad dreams? I know with the recent passing of two of my family members and our dog could have cause repressed memories but man… I’m glad that dream is over.

Lastly, nightmares or night terrors are not something I wish to encounter again; here’s to a good night of sleep.

Wow. Wow. Google goggles is such a cool app for the Android based HTC Evo 4G.

Check this app out, you scan an item, Goggles analyses the image and provides search result for that product. It scary how accurate the program is; it is truly a foot forward into searching via picture or video. Awesome app!

This past Saturday I dropped my iPhone 3Gs! Surprised?

I was a mistake, I just dropped it on the concrete slab there on the ground. To my own dismay, the screen had developed two enormous holes and a spider-web like pattern spanning the rest of the visible screen.

It did NOT look good for the old 3Gs. I would say it was dismal, at best.

To get to the story, I made my way to the closest Apple store here in Cleveland… Apple is typically a nightmare on a Sundays. I’m not a huge fan of an Apple trip any day of the week, but this Sunday in particular for the following reasons: To many people, so little room to move around, annoyed customers, employees flying around ignoring their biggest fans; it was the classic case of to many sales folks not enough servicing folks.

To make things worse, my screen was shot, I had no choice but to wait…

Between 15 – 20 minutes of standing around with my iPhone out for someone, anyone to have a look at; it was time to get a move on it. Of course I asked the very next Apple employee to guide me to a line that I can get help, any line. At this point it didn’t matter what happened, I was out on my luck, no phone, annoyed at myself for dropping the darn thing and now this.

It was clear to me after the 30 second conversation with that very same employee, that I needed to upgrade my phone. NO NOT THE DREADED IPHONE 4!!!!!!! NO

So, the choice was clear. The choice was made for me! I HAVE TO BUY A NEW IPHONE! Unbelievable.

Fast forward to today, BAM! Reality strikes, fewer bars, no text messaging history, a few less pictures, and no Storm 8 profile for World WarTM. You can see how frustrated I am with this new piece? Right? Things aren’t going so great with the new phone. It’s lacking in the “cool” department, hell it’s lacking more than the cool factor! Since this phone is just riddiled with antenna, software and profile issues… I have to ask myself just when is Apple going to release that new phone, because if it is in the next 30 days I should get a new one.

Whats next, will Apple release a new 4g compatable phone in September? Or may be they will own this issue and supply purchasers with a better option? Oh that will be great… Worst experience to date with Apple. I have been buying their products for over ten years now, and by far this has been the worst experience to date. Thanks Apple!

The point here is to understand what it is about life that each one of us needs from life itself. For instance I value trust, friendship, love, compassion, and time. All of which my human mind helps me interpret as life events. These life events allows me align my mind with others; with humanity. Is it human to feel the lose of a loved one? Yes, assuming you fundamentally align with the human species. On the contrary, human feel the preservation of life differently.

I can’t describe the pain one feels when I list a loved one but I do know that persons spirit is with me. At some point following my own lose I finally grieved, made my peace, realigned my perception of the world and carried forward.

So, I offer this; share your life, communicate your frustrations, listen, grieve, remember and then move forward.
